Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
The college has established The Internal Quality Assurance (IQAC) in the year 2016 following the instructions from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
IQAC is the stimulus in acquiring quality sustenance through acting as a catalyst that plans, monitors, guides and supports in the implementation of all the curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the institution. The cell has a pivotal role in the functioning of the institution, since its formation. It has taken many quality improvement initiatives to fulfil its objective by leading the formulation of the year plan, action plan, strategic plan, academic calendar, self-appraisal system, career advancement schemes, etc. it has also actively participated in the conduct of faculty improvement programmes, training programmes and the implementation of various policies, and other quality enhancement ventures of the Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College. To maintain a consistent academic development of the institution , the cell strives to instil research temper among the faculty members and students. It has also extended its activities to develop methods and practices for ensuring the objectives of the IQAC as envisaged by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

OBJECTIVES

- To monitor a document all the curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the college for quality enhancement

- To ensure the overall quality improvement of the institution through effective measures.
- To verify and analyse feedbacks collected and record the action taken
- To support the staff, college management and stake holders in all the academic quality improvement aspects
- To motivate the faculty members and the students to develop their academic career.
- To collaborate with other cells, clubs and forums of the college for conducting faculty improvement programmes and student support initiatives
- To attain assistance from external agencies for organizing workshops, seminars and other training programmes
- To prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) annually

POLICY OF SOCIAL INCLUSION
The formation of Rouzathul Uloom Association registered under the societies’ registration act 1860, paved a revolutionary change in the Malabar region of Kerala state. The major objective of the Association is to render education for all, especially women community. Abussabah Ahmed Ali, the founder president of the Association was a visionary, thinker and educated scholar, who wanted a Centre of excellence that caters academic perfection to all sections of the society. For this, he wanted to establish a hub of education from, Kindergarten to the Advanced Higher Education Centers.
Rouzathul Uloom Arabic College, established in 1942, is the first institution under the Association, to educate and promote the deprived community of the time. It is the first affiliated Arabic College, which was first affiliated to the University of Madras then with the Kerala University and in the year 1968. When the Universty of Calicut started, it change its affiliation to the University of Calicut. Since its establishment the institution is working hard to fulfill its goal, to uplift the backward community towards the mainstream, in accordance with its vision and mission. The institution is situated in Kozhikode district and shares boundary with Malappuram district where the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education was very low than the national average. By the establishment of the college, the students from these localities were able to attain higher education and academic development. The following measures are adopted to fulfill the institution distinctive objective of policy of social inclusion.
Extension Activities
As an institution with a vision to transform the youth into dedicated role models in service to accomplish a well-purified life, the college imparts the ideals of selfless service by extending its outreach activities to the neighboring society and environment. Under the auspices of various cells like the National Service Scheme, Red Ribbon Club, Bhoomitrasena, and other various clubs, the institution imparts the students with ample opportunities for social engagements and community living. The major activities in this regard during the assessment period are listed below: Jeevandhan (Give Life) As a devotional drop to save humanity, during the assessment period, the students of the institution took part in the extensional activity named Jeevandhan, donation of blood to the blood banks and camps. The volunteers of Red Ribbon Club are actively participated in the blood donation. Under the auspices of this cell, programmes like Blood Cone Cell Donation Camp and Orientation programmes were also done.
Khidma (Service)
Khidma (Service) is unique voluntary service cell that functions as a helping hand for the students in need. The volunteers of the cell extend their activities through assisting physically, mentally and visually challenged students of the home and neighbouring campuses. Conveyance assistance, acting as scribes for examinations, Day celebrations with Differently Abled Children, physical and emotional support etc. are some of the outreach programmes rendered by the cell.
Balsam (Palliative Care)
Balsam, a Students’ Initiative Palliative unit functions in the college under the Jubilee Health Care Centre, Farook College Post. Under this cell, extension activities like ‘Consolation Visit to The Needy Houses,’ ‘Snehatheeram Old Age Home Visits,’ ‘Oru Roopa Orayiram Santhosham are organised. Snehaveedu (House for the Needy) During the assessment period, two houses (Snehaveedu) were constructed for the needy family under the scheme SNEHAVEEDU.
Bhoomitrasena
The institution executes its environmental outreach activities mainly through the second-best Bhoomitrasena unit of Kerala state. The volunteers of the cell undertook eco-friendly programmes like Bio Park Beautification, Tree Planting, Plastic Free Chaliyar River, Herbal Gardening, etc.
Public Awareness Programme
In consensus with the special day observations, different cells functioning in the institution organise public awareness campaigns and rallies on drug abuse, AIDS, Road Safety, Blood Donation, Palliative Care etc. Fund collection The students of the institution actively contributed and collected funds for the different extension programmes like Fund collection for the Education of Children at Wayanadu, Study Tour for ALP School, Bhoodhanam, Assam Flood Relief, Institute of Palliative Medicine (IPM) etc.
National Service Scheme
The strong and vibrant unit of the National Service Scheme of the institution provides enough opportunities to its volunteers to render selfless service to society and the nation. Activities like Health Survey, Swachh Bharat Mission, Free Water Supply, and Rehabilitation Activities at Flood Affected Area, are some of them.
Break the chain Campaign
During the pandemic days, students of the institution took part in the Break the Chain Campaign. Oxygen Challenge, Sapling Planting, Food Kit Distribution, Covid 19 Pledge for the Social Wellbeing, Food Distribution for the street destitute (Sneha Sadhya) are some of the activities of this Pandemic Period.
Gender Sensitivity
The institution played a key role as a primary facilitator of women education among the community. By starting women education, the college was able to alleviate ignorance among the society to an extent and was able to provide girl students with equal opportunity in attaining educational status and employment. Gender equity, Equal opportunity and Gender justice is seriously observed in the campus. Apart from other special facilities provided for the women students, a separate hostel, women’s hostel, is also built to fulfil inclusiveness. Since its establishment, thousands of women were able to attain education from the institution and hundreds of them are holding high posts in employment.
Priority For Minority
The college has minority status and it is functioning with the objective of uplifting the underprivileged sections of the society. It was the necessity of the time to help and support these downtrodden people to attain mainstream social strata. It is one of the pioneering institutions coming under the category of government-aided colleges that caters to the educationally backward population by providing free education. Students from Minority community are given priority at the time of admission, based on the rules and regulations of Government of Kerala and the University of Calicut. Apart from granting internal scholarship to the needy students, the institution also makes available maximum number of scholarships from Government and other agencies for the deserving students.
STUDENTS QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (SQAC)
SQAC (Student’s Quality Assurance Cell), is a part of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), aims at improving the academic and administrative performance of the Institution by incorporating student’s perspectives in all the academic matters as possible. The SQAC team in Rouazathul Uloom was formally inducted on 9th August 2019 with one student from all Undergraduate and Postgraduate classes totally to 11 numbers of students. The students are informed about the formation of SQAC by reading a notice at the classes.
